Job Applicant Privacy Notice

Silicon Laboratories Inc. and its subsidiaries (“Silicon Labs”) collect, use and retain certain information about you to enable us to process your application.  We do this for legitimate business purposes in compliance with region specific regulations including GDPR and CCPA. These regulations requires employers to tell their job applicants in more detail why we collect your data, what we do with it, and how long we expect to retain it.

We wish to obtain your informed consent about the data that we may hold about you.  You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to Silicon Labs during the recruitment process, or to provide your consent.  However, if you do not provide this data and/or your consent for us to collect, use and retain your data, or exercise certain rights, we may not be able to process your application properly, or at all.


The Information We Collect and How Long We Retain It

We collect a range of information about you. This includes the following, which is not a comprehensive list:


Recruitment Data:

Examples: Your name, address, email address, phone number, previous employers, types of job held at other companies, previous salaries, skills and qualifications obtained, education, your legal eligibility to work for us.

Why we collect this data: This will help us to decide which job or department may be most suitable for you. This will allow us to assess your qualification for the job to which you are applying.

How long will we hold it: If your application is declined your data will be destroyed 6 months after completion of the application process unless you explicitly provide Silicon Labs consent to retain it. If a job offer is made, a more comprehensive consent form will be issued.

 

How Do We Obtain Your Data

We collect your data from the application forms that you complete online or in person, from documents that you provide to us, such as your CV or your passport, from interviews, and from online sources such as LinkedIn.

 

Who Has Access to Your Data

Your information may be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes members of the People and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy and IT staff if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles. Silicon Labs does not sell personal information to third parties. We will not share your data with third parties, unless your application for employment is successful and we make you an offer of employment. We will then share your data with former employers to obtain references for you, and employment background check providers to obtain necessary background checks.

 

Where is Your Data Processed and Stored

Your data is processed and stored primarily in Workday, which is an online recruiting tool used by Silicon Labs. It may also be stored IT systems used by Silicon Labs, including email. The recruiters and other employees who will process your data reside primarily within the United States.


Your Rights

As a data subject, you have certain rights. You can:

  • access and obtain a copy of your data on request;
  • require Silicon Las to change incorrect or incomplete data;
  • require Silicon Labs to delete or stop processing your data under certain circumstances, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing; and
  • object to the processing of your data where Silicon Labs is relying on its legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing.

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact DataProtection@silabs.com.  If you believe that Silicon Labs has not complied with any of these rights, you can complain to the Data Processing Authority within your local jurisdiction.

In giving my consent:

I understand that I can ask to see this data to check its accuracy at any time via a subject access request (SAR).

I understand that I can ask for a copy of my personal data held about me at any time, and this request is free of charge.

I understand that I can request that data that is no longer required to be held, can be removed from my file and destroyed.

I understand that if I am unsuccessful with my application my data will be destroyed after 6 months unless I provide further consent to Silicon Labs to retain it.
